The Week in iPhone Cases: Dog days of summer

Here’s this week’s roundup of new iPhone cases.

Hex: The Axis (iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S; $50) is a combination of a case and a wallet, made of high-quality genuine leather, that features special slots and pockets for plastic cards and cash. A convenient elastic strap keeps everything securely closed while on the go, and a camera cutout allows you take pictures and access your handset’s controls without having to remove the case. The Axis is available in black or red.
Fantabulous: The Cork Series (iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S; $30) is a snap-on, hardshell back case that features an exterior veneer made of that most wonderful of materials: cork. It’s ultralight–but sturdy–and feels soft to the touch. The hardshell case is available in three different motifs, and the cork veneer is fire resistant, in addition to helping keep your safe from unwanted bumps and scratches.
Noreve: The Perpétuelle series (iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S; price unavailable) is a line of cases made of full-grain calf leather; the cases are available in both a classic and a “Couture” edition, with the latter featuring a different design motif. The case includes two pockets for cards or banknotes, and it comes in twelve colors: black, white, grey, ivory, pink, blue, red, aqua, brown, lime green, purple, and orange.
TopKase: The Aegis (iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S; $60) features a unique sliding shutter that fully protects your iPhone’s screen and can be moved out of the way with the flick of a finger–the shutter even cleans your screen every time you open the shutter. The case is designed to stand up in both landscape and portrait, making it easier to watch movies on your device, and the case design improving your iPhone’s speaker performance.
